Now at Rose Hill Manor, you have the choice of how to spend our vacation – lolling in our gardens or learning from our experts – or both! Rose Hill Manor has announced an exciting calendar of interactive events that will provide hands-on learning experiences, in addition to the luxurious accommodations and fine dining that have brought praise from Gourmet Magazine, Wine Spectator, The Dallas Morning News, Texas Monthly, Southern Living and more. The Texas Hill Country, well known for its wildflowers, wineries, gourmet food, history and art will provide the perfect setting that will feature these areas of interest for your learning vacation. Each of these special occasions has a cost as follows: Room rates are $159.00 plus 6% tax, the class/event is $75.00 per person. These classes and events are open to overnight guests of Rose Hill Manor only. The $75.00 fee does not include tax, but does include the class/event, transportation, and lunch or dinner as noted.The Schedule of Classes and Events:
November 13: Cooking Class “ Thanksgiving Dinner From Start To Finish”
Simply put, we’re gonna show you how to make a Thanksgiving Dinner that will make your family think you’re a genius – without a lot of hard work. However, this is not a turkey dinner. This is for those who want to have a more upscale experience. We’ll make the bread and rolls, the appetizers, salad, a selection of entrees and Chef Chad will lead you in the perfect pies to end the perfect meal.
November 27: Cooking Class “ Holiday Baking –The Fundamentals”
This is where you will learn the basics so that you can pull off wonderful surprises during the entire holiday season. We’ll do Christmas cookies, pies, breakfast pastries, gingerbread – the whole nine yards. Help us put the finishing touches on our Gingerbread House to enter into the Weinachten Festival in Fredericksburg.
December 4: Rare & Used Bookstores
If you’re a bibliophile like we are, you’ll be delighted to spend your day browsing a small hidden rare and used bookstores scattered around the Hill Country. We will stop in between at quaint little Hill Country coffee shops for refreshments and lunch. You can also be looking for Christmas presents for that bibliophile on your list!
December 18: Christmas a Rose Hill Manor
We’re going to make Christmas cookies and a gingerbread house, mull some wine, sing songs around the piano, drink the mulled wine, go for a Christmas hayride and end up with a special performance by the Rose Hill Manor Choir. Come ready to eat, sing, drink and decorate. You’ll also go home with your own batch of Christmas cookies to share with your family and friends.
